Rosemount 5400 Series - Superior 2-wire Radar Level Transmitters

You cannot afford a single misstep in your process. That’s why we used our 30 years of proven radar expertise to design the new non-contacting Rosemount 5400 Series to focus your plant’s profitability. It delivers higher reliability, improved safety and requires less maintenance and configuration. As a result you will have reduced downtime and lower installation and operating costs.

These features and many more were developed with the customer’s bottom line in mind and make the Rosemount 5400 Series deliver like no 2-wire radar in history. In fact, it’s all that Emerson does best: innovation that delivers clear business results

Features and Benifits :

Radar is a continuous level measurement technique that offers several advantages. It is virtually unaffected by temperature, pressure and vapor gas mixtures. It is a non-contacting method with no moving parts and therefore requires little or no maintenance. It measures the level directly and is therefore unaffected by most fluid property changes, including but not limited to density and viscosity changes.Additionally, the Rosemount 5400 Series offers the following benefits: Higher measurement reliability resulting in improved process uptime through

  Dual Port Technology

Condensation Resistant Antenna

Circular Polarization

Advanced Transmitter Software Robust design resulting in reduced operating costs thanks to

Dual Compartment aluminum or stainless steel housing

Interchangeable transmitter head without opening the tank

Integrated Cooling Fins Easy commissioning resulting in reduced startup costs through

Measure-and-Learn™ transmitter software

User-friendly configuration tool Rosemount Radar Master

Rotate housing in any direction

Easy to access terminals and loop-powered

Single assembly for out-of-box installation

Applications :

The Rosemount 5400 Series can be used for continuous non-contacting level and volume measurements of liquids and semi-liquids. The unchallenged Signal-to-Noise ratio in conjunction with a wide range of antennas and the flexibility of having a low- and high frequency version make it suitable for almost any application in the process industry.

Buffer Tanks

For measurements in tanks with a calm or slightly turbulent surface, the Rosemount 5400 Series transmitter is the preferred choice, particularly where the tank has a narrow nozzle opening.

Chambers and stilling wells
The 5400 is an excellent choice for level gauging in tanks with stilling wells. It may also be used in some chambers, but Guided Wave Radar is generally the best fit for these applications.

Reactor Tanks
The state-of-the art signal processing provided by the 5400 makes it a very suitable choice for tanks with harsh and varying process conditions.
